Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE
To Perform Laboratory analysis of Raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, utilities etc independently as per the analysis schedule, in accord with well defined procedure to facilitate confirmation of the quality of product.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Performs routine analysis of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products in shifts to achieve quality of the product.
• Performs routine analysis of effluent water, effluent gases as per procedure to ensure safe environment.
• Performs calibration of assigned laboratory instruments as per the procedure and schedule under supervision of Senior Chemist /Lab supervisor to check the accuracy of the analysis results.
• Prepares standard solutions for analytical use and perform standardization as per the written procedure to ensure the quality of products.
• Writes all the analysis results into the prescribed format in the shift to maintain ISO requirements
• Trains and develop lab technician to full fill laboratory future man power requirement
• Policies, Processes and Procedures
Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
• Day-to-day management
Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
• Reporting
Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for section in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
• Safety, Health & Environment
Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
• Related Assignments
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
Requirements
Academic and professional qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry / 3 years Diploma in chemistry from any reputed university.
Experience:
For Bachelor Degree holders minimum 3 years experience in a laboratory of relevant petrochemical company .
For Diploma holder minimum 5 years experience in a laboratory of relevant petrochemical company.
Languages:
English language
Skills:
Knowledge of Laboratory equipments like U.V Spectrophotometer, Gas chromatograph, Karl fischer etc
Knowledge of Computer for entering Data .
English language to understand the standard procedure
Knowledge of safety while handling hazardous chemicals.
