The RoleThe RoleJob Details • Responsible for sample receipt, sample separation and performing a variety of standard haematological, serological, bacteriological and chemical laboratory tests when posted in a specific work area. • Follows established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, and reporting. Performs a variety of determinations on different body fluids; confirms and verifies test results and reports findings to Laboratory Director • Responsible for the accurate performance of assigned duties under close supervision. As the employee gains experience and technical proficiency increases, less supervision is required. Supervision is received from a senior Lab Technologist or Laboratory Director who reviews work for adherence to established policies and procedures. • Process specimens for laboratory tests and examination in all sections of the laboratory information system; enters and forwards results for verification and authentication by the Laboratory Director. • Performs scheduled maintenance on all instruments; performs quality control and notifies Supervisor of any problems and corrective actions taken. • Participates in the quality management system. • Ensure the availability of all reagents kits by keeping track of the required materials for all various tests assigned |
RequirementsRequirementsOther Benefits Annual Leave of 30 days, Provided Insurance, Gratuity Pay Job Description General Lab Technologist/ Supervisor Desired Candidate's Profile Profile Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Biology or Chemistry subjects and/or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT ) 2 –3 years full time studies from an accredited college or university is required. Three years post qualification experience in a recognized Laboratory / Healthcare institution in a similar position. • Working knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and techniques of Medical Laboratory Technology. • Working knowledge of the basic principles of Chemistry, Microbiology, Haematology, Bacteriology, and Quality control as related to Medical Technology. • Some knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of laboratory instruments and equipment. • Some knowledge of safety precautions and first aid procedures in the laboratory. • Some knowledge of anatomy and physiology. • Ability to perform assigned tasks exactly according to prescribed procedures.
