Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Production teams are responsible for the safe operation of our polyolefin production facilities - comprising of Cracker Plants, Polyethylene Plants, Polypropylene Plants, Olefin Conversion Units and Utility Plants, to achieve our production targets in compliance with quality and sound HSE practices

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will be part of the Laboratory team and will be responsible for:

* Performing variety of analysis and tests in accordance with established testing methods and instructions.

* Carrying out complex test analysis and involve in studies to support production performance, product quality optimization and customer needs.

* Monitoring and performing equipment calibration in his assigned area.

* Carrying out maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment in his area of responsibility.

* Monitoring and providing necessary assistance for any deviation to maintain SPC program.

* Extending skills in the development and writing of work instruction and technical reports.

* Contributing expertise in claim handling and perform necessary test analysis in this regard.

* Creating material reservation and coordinate lab maintenance with PA in the absence of Sr. Day Technician.

* Monitoring and following-up of inventory level of standard and utility gases and other utilities. When necessary inform laboratory engineer or stock-keeper.

* Testing and inspecting newly installed or repaired laboratory testing apparatus and equipment and train Laboratory Technicians on the use of them.

* Complying with all safety and fire rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment and ensures that all personnel working in his area comply with safety regulations.

* Carrying out other similar or related duties as assigned which includes ensuring the application of good housekeeping in the laboratory, maintaining all related files and records.

Requirements

As a successful candidate you will have:

* Technical Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

* Minimum five (5) years experience in polymer, gas processing plants or petrochemicals laboratories, involving control, testing, standard procedures and instrumental chemical analysis.

* Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.

* Very good initiative and team player.

* Proficient in the use of MS Office - Word, Excel, etc.

* Hands-on experience and knowledge in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) will be an advantage.
