Land Surveyor

Job description / Role

Brief Summary of the Position:

To execute necessary surveying exercises allowing for an efficient execution of the contract.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for using standard methods to indicate the information and monitoring construction to that information.

2. Demarcation of site office set up

3. Surveying of project existing site conditions and available public belongings

4. Record project existing obstructions

5. Record project existing ground levels

6. Maintaining all instruments on the Contract, and compiling an instrument register with on/off hire to be kept

7. Regular spot-checks on instruments in use to ensure that they are in proper adjustment

8. Ensuring setting out books are properly maintained and filed when complete.

9. Regular update of main control line/level and issuing of latest information

10. Providing main site control, including periodic checking

11. Carrying out all necessary monitoring of existing and new works

12. Completing condition surveys if required

13. Providing security arrangements for all survey instruments

14. Assisting Engineers in areas of complex survey work and calculations

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering

3 years minimum Gulf experience is essential

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Good command of spoken & written English; Additional Language is a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Good Computer skills

Good calculation and analytical skills
