Job description / Role
My client is a joint venture organisation of leading international construction companies working on the Riyadh Metro project. They are currently looking to recruit and experienced Lawyer who has experience of the construction industry and is fluent in Arabic. The role will include -
- Supporting with negotiations on design and construction matters.- Review, draft and negotiate main subcontract and supply agreements.
- Support contracts managers regarding legal matters arising from contracts with clients and agreements with design consultants and suppliers.
- Deal with legal matters with land owners, public authorities and utility companies.
- Liaise with external counsel in the preparation of contractual documentation as well for required specialised legal advise.
- Supervision of contentious and pre-contentious strategy, including the involvement of external lawyers.
- Ensuring compliance with SAGIA requirements and other licenses.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Law degree and must be fluent is both English and Arabic. Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience as a lawyer with substantial experience in the Middle East in a law firm and preferably within the construction industry. Candidates will preferably have experience of working in Saudi Arabia and will have expert knowledge of FIDIC or FIDIC based contracts, subcontracts, corporate law and commercial law in the GCC region.
