Employment: Full Time

We have a vacancy for a mid-level financial services lawyer to join our client's corporate team.

The team also works across the wider Middle East financial services market. As an emerging market, the scope and breadth of the work available across the region is vast, fast-moving and provides a wide variety of interesting work.

Requirements

- PQE 4-6 with training and any post-qualification gained from a well-regarded law firm with a focus on financial services sector or in-house at a financial services body - specific insurance experience would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience working on a range of regulatory matters with elements of Corporate and Commercial and a focus on the Insurance industry and wider Financial Services market. Ideally experience of (or an understanding of) working with the specialist financial free zones - e.g. QFC or DIFC, would be a
plus or with the financial services regulators (ESCA and the Central Bank) in the UAE. 2:1 (or higher) degree classification (or equivalent) from a reputable University.
- Strong drafting skills is a must for this role as you will be expected to work with limited amount of partner supervision and will be tasked with mentoring more junior members of staff.
- A genuine interest in developing a long term career with the firm in the Middle East as we see this role as one with tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to grow a business-case with the firm.
- Arabic language an advantage but not essential.
- Candidates from the UK and South Africa will be considered for this role.
