Job description / Role

- Provides legal advice to user departments on corporate and other legal issues as assigned by the General Counsel while ensuring compliance with all contractual arrangements and legal requirements.
- Drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts, under supervision of senior members of the Legal department.
- Drafts and reviews notices and other written correspondence with counterparties.
- Provides support and legal advice to user departments, attending internal and external meetings where required.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, and monitors compliance by other members of staff where appropriate, particularly with regard to Legal, Firewall and Ethics & Integrity related policies.
- Draft articles, guidance notes and/or other similar written pieces on legal topics for internal or external publications where appropriate and requested by the General Counsel.
- Provides training to other members of the Legal department and other user departments where applicable, in specialist areas of law.
- Provide accurate and timely translation for legal material ( Arabic-English & Vice Versa) in accordance with applicable professional standards for translation.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Law from recognized law school, or alternative degree with required conversion course completed.
- 5 to 8 years legal experience in relevant area(s) of law.
- Excellent standard of written & spoken English.
- Strong negotiating skills are required.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills in English.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with several organizational levels.

Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd.
