The RoleThe RoleLead Architect (Site Supervision) - Delhi Buro Happold India has won a prestigious appointment to provide the project management and contract administration for a new US$45,000,000 development in the heart of New Delhi. The construction of the project is planned over a 30 month period with a 12 months defect liability period, and Buro Happold's project management team will be approximately 14 strong. Working as part of the project management team, reporting to the Project Manager, the Lead Architect is responsible for all aspects of the project relating to building and landscape architecture. The role includes the management of the architectural team to ensure that the day to day duties are performed professionally and expeditiously to support the ongoing progress of the project. The architectural team comprises of a Lead Architect, Architect and Architectural Inspector. Responsibilities: Lead the multi-disciplinary technical aspects of the project and co-ordinate works with structural, mechanical, electrical and external works engineers. In conjunction with the document controller, ensure that all architectural documents are correctly logged and filed in accordance with the site procedures manual. Identify all architectural samples required under the contract and produce the list of samples. Manage the sample approval process. Review shop drawings for all architectural elements. Review and comment on all coordinated architectural GFCs. Inspect and comment on constructed architectural elements in line with the approved architectural GFC drawings. Review material samples and manufacturing samples off site, if required. Resolve site issues expeditiously to minimize programme delays. Organize meetings to resolve architectural issues, as necessary. Coordinate with designers and consultants appointed by the client. Deal with RFIs relating to the architectural aspects of the work. Maintain a daily site report for architectural constructed elements. Attend and manage design meetings and reviews. Attend Project Progress Meetings. Attend internal Project Management Team meetings. Attend off-site visits to sub-contractors manufacturing facilities. Undertake dimensional spot checks of architectural work. Prepare samples of critical finishes, in conjunction with the client appointed interior designer. Instruct sample taking and carrying out the testing of materials, components, techniques and workmanship, and examine the conduct and test results, as appropriate. At intervals appropriate to the stage of construction, inspect the works to determine that they are being executed in accordance with the contract documents. Instruct the opening up of completed work to determine that it is in accordance with the contract documents, as appropriate. Monitor the ongoing construction of the architectural work and instruct the Contractor to make corrections, as necessary to improve the finish of the constructed works. Proactively work with the Contractor to ensure that the architectural works are constructed in accordance with the contract documents. It is envisaged that this will involve detailed discussions about proposed construction techniques and materials, prior to the works being executed to minimize impact on the project program. Record and follow up on defective construction work. Integrate yourself as an active member of the project management team. Provide regular updates on the architectural aspects of the project to the Project Manger. Compile the architectural section of the monthly progress report. Deputize for the Project Manager when required. Review the architectural as-built drawings and maintenance manuals prepared by the Contractor. Monitor and ensure health and safety on the site. Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager. The post holder must at all times carry out his/ her duties with due regard to the Buro Happold Diversity Policy. |
