Our client is a well-established and leading EPC & Maintenance Contractor who provides services to clients within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power Industries.

Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to work on a 3 month on 1 month off rotation on their Maintenance, shutdown and turnaround projects in the UAE. To co-ordinate, identify, develop and execute strategies for the tenders and contracts.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Maintain deep technical knowledge of project execution
• Evaluate contracts, quotations and make legal/technical recommendations.
• Be commercially astute, and shall be capable of taking up assignments in all aspects of contracts and project control including cost control.
• Be a competent negotiator.
• Advise Planning Department, Project Manager, and Operations Department about contractual rights and obligations.
• Evaluate & monitor contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts.
• Attend negotiation meetings with clients.
• Coordination with Estimation/Proposals team for the review of bid preparation process from time to time.
• Exercise authority at the level determined by management for the position.
• Establish control procedures, standards and complete the assigned tasks within the stipulated time frame.
• Be focussed on the needs of the customer/client and strive to exceed their expectations.
• Develop and maintain harmonious working relationship between subordinates and superiors.
• Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Complex problem solving, identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Requirements

You will need to be degree qualified in Engineering with a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in drafting of contracts, MOUs and estimation on EPC Oil and Gas projects. Experience of working in the Middle East for engineering and construction contractors is also required.

Our client offers a competitive tax free salary + expat package working on Das Island on a 3 months / 1 month off rotation. Accommodation and all costs are covered during working rotation.
