Employment: Full Time

The Lead - ED/UC Accreditation has a pivotal role in coordination and management of activities of the Patient Safety, Accreditation and Performance Improvement resources of the department. The Lead - ED/UC Accreditation works as a key member of the team and assumes full accountability for overall management and delivery of quality services to achieve optimal patient quality and safety outcomes in the emergency and urgent care. The Lead - ED/UC Accreditation ensures that the standards for quality and safety are adhered to in all areas.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Coordinates the organization-wide performance improvement program including Infection Control, Peer Review, Patient Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Core Measures, and assures compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provides overall direction necessary to ensure that clinical services are provided in accordance with standards established through Qatar regulations and TJC/JCI accreditation standards, and that they are evidence-based
- Develops the required reports regarding Patient Safety, Performance Improvement Program, and Staffing Effectiveness and other reports as requested
- Implements advanced analysis and research activities focused upon using data to develop and enhance clinical pathways, practice guidelines, and other outcomes improvement strategies.
- In conjunction with the medical staff and system leadership, directs and coordinates safety/quality/ performance improvement initiatives.
- Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with staff, peers, other disciplines, ancillary services physicians, vendors and community leaders.
- Creates and communicates a shared vision for both the organization and for Quality, Accreditation, Performance Improvement and Patient Safety.
- Creates an environment which recognizes and values cultural differences in staff, physicians, patients and communities
- Represents Quality, Accreditation, Performance Improvement and Patient Safety to non-health care constituents within the community
- Provides consultation to community and business leaders regarding childrens healthcare
- Builds credibility with physicians as a champion for patient care, quality and nursing professionalism
- Confronts and addresses inappropriate physician and staff behavior towards patients or other staff in accordance with organizational guidelines and policies.
- Determines current and future supply and demand for nursing care resources
- Ensures that written ED/UC clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in accordance with evidence-based practice
- Serves as a change agent when patient care work/workflow is redesigned
- Interprets information from research and utilizes research findings for the establishment of standards, practices and patient care models
- Disseminates research findings to patient care team members as appropriate, and then envisions and develops them
- Determines patient care quality improvement goals and objectives
- Proactively educates leadership and staff regarding regulatory issues, new guidelines, and safety/quality performance improvement activities
- Oversees the design of safe clinical systems, processes, policies and procedures in ED/UC
- Regularly communicates performance improvement and quality/safety activities to leadership and staff
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- Master's degree in nursing or nursing administration-related field from an accredited School of Nursing
- 7+ years nursing management experience in an academic medical institution handling Joint Commission/Joint Commission International or Accreditation preparation in a clinical setting
