The RoleThe RoleProfile: The Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer will lead a multicultural Team of Technical staff, responsible for maintaining the reliable and accurate operation of all of the process control and instrumentation equipment on the power station. This will require a range of knowledge and skills, such that you can provide specialist expertise within the C&I Engineering discipline and contribute to addressing long and short term Engineering and Maintenance issues related to modern CCGT and Desalination processes. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the post holder will be expected to have excellent leadership skills, the ability to work under their own initiative and high levels of drive, energy and motivation. Core Competencies Technical •Technical competence within control and instrumentation engineering discipline •Provide C&I technical and operations staff with day-to-day support on technical problems with process control equipment and instrumentation. •Practical knowledge of modern gas turbine and associated plant engineering & maintenance routines and strategies •Life cycle management for all major plant items •Practical knowledge of multistage flash desalination units and associated plant engineering & maintenance routines and strategies •Practical knowledge of modern engineering practices •Knowledge of local environmental legislation and principles of management •Practical knowledge of contract management and the ability to negotiate •Knowledge of project management techniques •Commercial awareness •Knowledge of the principles of statutory, insurance, technical and safety issues relating to power plant •Budget management •Computer literacy •Knowledge of DCS Technology |

Ideally should have knowledge and exposure of modern Gas Turbine technology and multistage Desalination processes. Education: Engineering related education to degree level is the minimum requirement and a qualification in management studies is preferred. |
