Lead Engineer Mechanical

Job description / Role

- Act as a Client Representative and supervise the construction works on site which are being carried out by an EPC Contractor;
- Plan, monitor and supervise works of construction supervision Engineers;
- Review, monitor and report on progress of works; Review/comment and approve Contractor's design, material submittals, drawings, method statements and other project relevant documentation;
- Attend factory and site testing and inspection of equipment and materials;
- Convene and chair technical and progress meetings with all concerned parties;
- Prepare technical and financial reports related to the project;
- Provide advice to the Client on contractual and construction matters;
- Provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients;
- Liaise with all parties for site safety;

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Licensed / registered engineer with a recognized authority;
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, 10 of which will have been in construction supervision and minimum 8 years on projects in water/wastewater sectors preferably in the Middle East;
- Experience with construction supervision of subterranean pumping stations and other significant underground structures;
- Experience with 33kV substations, 11kV switchgears, MV VFDs and motors, stand by power generation systems, PLC/SCADA systems, general building services;
- Familiarity with applicable international standards;
- Experienced within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
