Lead Engineer in Voice Mediation

Basic Function:
The individual selected to fill this position of Lead Engineer will have primary responsibility for supporting and maintaining mediation efforts across the company’s voice platforms by monitoring the software and hardware components. Must be able to manage existing CDR/Log mediation systems and run diagnostics on equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As Lead Engineer, you will need excellent communication and documentation skills, the ability to hold workshops, understand elicit requirements from stakeholders and the writing ability of functional and technical specifications. Qualified candidates will specifically need to understand Voice Switching as you will be dealing with Voice grade service Engineers and also taking responsibility for the implications of any changes, therefore candidates must be able to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders on the Voice side as well as being an advocate for billing. The ability to work across cross functional groups is essential. Candidates with Business Analysis skills, knowledge of both Voice Switching and Billing is preferred.

Major Responsibilities:
• client/customer/stakeholder facing, based around a strong understanding of a customer’s needs,
• the ability to think strategically & with a business focus when looking at software issues/implementations,
• the ability to understand business rules, business processes, re-engineer business processes, capture user requirements, manage stakeholders, deliver on projects
• experience dealing with Billing, Mediation, BSS systems, Voice Switching and in the telecommunications field

Requirements

To be considered for this position qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience in related Telecommunications field. Required work experience and skill sets to include knowledge of data collection, mediation, and billing systems. In depth knowledge of VoIP a plus. Candidates must be able to work effectively to meet or exceed deadlines, work closely with Senior Management, as well as Engineering teams (Voice Engineers etc); operate well under pressure & possess extremely high personal standards in terms of work, professionalism & ability to continually learn, improve & enjoy an environment where you will be positively challenged on a regular basis.
