Job description / Role
Our client is a leading and well respected international contractor who are currently recruiting experienced technical staff for their regional office in Dubai.
Primary objective
To ensure Instrumentation and Control systems design integrity whilst leading I&C engineering team on specific projects. Carry out instrumentation design engineering activities, including co-ordination with the instrumentation design groups, with regards to engineering tie-ins on existing off shore and on shore oil and gas facilities
General Requirements
• Data gathering and site survey
• Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints
• Supervision of I&C engineers, designers and technical personnel
• Ensure that all work is carried our in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare Instrument detail design deliverables, basis of design and reports.
• Preparation of Front end engineering deliverables including design basis, specifications datasheets, sizing calculations, studies and reports.
• Carry out bid evaluation/ vendor document review and approval.
• Modifications to Cause and Effect diagrams and Functional definition of required Process Control & Safety systems
• Perform engineering design duties associated with tie-ins on existing off shore and on shore oil and gas processing facilities.
Requirements
Essential Skills/Experience
• Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical / Electrical (Instrumentation/Electronics) (MSc Will be considered as an advantage)
• 15 years’ experience within the oil and gas industry.
• Valve sizing calculations, flow element sizing calculations.
• Exposure to Intools and SIL studies and ability to provide input to control and shutdown narrative.
• Field instrumentation design including MOV’s
• Tank gauging systems, Level measurement and metering systems
• Participation in HAZID, HAZOP studies and workshop
• Prepare I/O lists, Loop diagrams etc Position Specific Experience:
• Design experience on Oil and gas projects (off shore / Onshore) with design experience on systems such as DCS, ESD, FF, PLC, SCADA.
• Knowledge on Port Operating systems will be considered as an advantage
• Design of Fire and Gas (F&G) Systems including detectors, cabling, central monitoring workstations and integration to existing facilities is essential. (knowledge of Invensis and Autronica systems will be considered as an advantage)
• Design of Fiber Optic Cabling systems
• Ship to Shore Link Systems
• Marine Monitoring Systems (QRH, Laser sensors, Jetty Indicators, Docking Aid systems, Mooring Load monitoring etc)
