Lead Internal Audit

Job description / Role

* Liaise with CIAA and senior management of AZF and its SBUs in relation to internal audit assignments.
* Undertake more complex risk based internal audit reviews from initial contact with clients, including departmental directors and/or managers through to preparation and issuance of draft and final reports, to provide effective assurance and to form an opinion for reporting to senior management regarding effectiveness and adequacy of AZF and its SBU internal control, risk management and governance processes.
* Attend various management committees / groups as required by the CIAA.
* Plan and conduct audits to assess controls, operational efficiencies and compliance with selected policies, procedures and regulations. Resolve audit problems that occur and develop modifications to coverage and schedule.
* Communicate findings, recommendations and conclusions to senior management of AZF and its SBUs.
* Undertake consultancy work, additional to the annual internal audit plan and as requested by AZF President and/or CIAA.
* Perform, manage and complete financial and non financial risk based internal audit RBIA reviews and in accordance with agreed internal audit plans, deadlines and the International Standards for Processional Practice of Internal Auditing (The Standards)
* Perform follow up audit procedures on previous recommendations and action plans.
* Assist and act on behalf of CIAA in accordance with AZF’s relevant policy and procedures.
* Contribute in preparation of IAU staffing plans and budgets.
* Carry out special investigations as requested by AZF President and/or SBU senior management.
* Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

* Experience in using risk based internal audit approach.
* IT literate, with ability to use internal audit management application systems, computerized finance and/or accounting systems, in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
* BA, BSc in Auditing, Accounting, Finance and/or Business Studies, or
* MSc in Auditing, Accounting, Finance and/or Business Studies, or
* MBA in Finance
* Chartered Internal Auditor, or
* Certified Internal Auditor, or
* Chartered/Certified Accountant (with internal audit experience) or
* Chartered/Certified Management Accountant (with internal audit experience)

Aspire LOGISTICS was established by Emiri Decree number 1 for the year 2008 as the strategic business unit of Aspire Zone Foundation responsible for supporting the activities of Aspire Zone by:

• Building, operating and managing high quality international standard sport facilities • Providing support for staging of sport events and activities • Providing shared services support for the precinct’s business partners – ASPIRE Academy and ASPETAR
