Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse is working with a prominent Oil and Gas company based in Muscat. Our client is looking to hire a Lead Legal Counsel to establish and run their legal function. This is a newly created position to replace outside counsel, secondees and group level support.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work autonomously across a wide range of matters including corporate, commercial, project finance and litigation.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be Western educated and have at least 8 years PQE working both in-house (in Oil and Gas) and within a Top Tier/Magic Circle private practice firm on international projects. You should also be admitted to practice in the UK/Australia/US/New Zealand and have extensive knowledge of commercial contracts and project finance within the Oil and Gas industry. Exposure to the Middle East market would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
