Lead Piping Designer (Water Projects)

Job description / Role

Lead Piping Designer (Water Projects) - Abu Dhabi, UAE

- Supervise/ Lead the project design team for piping including determining work assignments and meeting project budget and schedule
- Participate in design coordination with engineers and project management
- Perform design work utilizing 3D CAD systems
- Participate in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets
- Provide input to and help develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, vendor proposals and technical studies
- Mentor junior staff
- Act as design lead on assigned projects
- Participate in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits and inspections, and design revisions/ management of change

Requirements

- Appropriate Engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 12 years relevant experience
- 3 years experience as a lead designer for heavy industrial projects
- 5 years experience utilizing a 3D piping package such as SP3D, CADDworx or similar
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Previous work experience in Water & Wastewater industry for industrial clients
- Previous experience in engineering consultancy
- Must be willing to travel to meet project needs
- Strong working relationships with industrial clients
- Previous work experience in Middle East
