Job description / Role
Our client is a leading and well respected international contractor who are currently recruiting experienced technical staff for their regional office in Dubai.
Primary objective Leading the Piping design for a large scale Oil and Gas, Port Expansion project interacting with other disciplines, client and vendors as required. Co-ordination of all the piping engineering, piping design, plot plans and equipment layout functions to meet the objectives.
General Requirements
• Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
• Optimization of EPC Project Design produced by Engineering Sub consultants
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering
• Effective interaction with client engineering team for approval of design deliverables
• Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule.
• Ensure recognized offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted.
• Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organization with members of other disciplines and departments.
• Perform Stress Analysis designs
Requirements
Essential Skills/Experience
• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (MSc will be considered as an advantage)
• Minimum of 15 years piping engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry
• A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore / onshore engineering practices applicable to topsides equipment layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities.
• Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore/ onshore oil and gas installations.
• Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
• Affiliation to engineers’ association/institute bodies shall add additional advantage
• Proven ability to work with a minimal supervision
• Ability and willingness to meet agreed deadlines
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness and ability to work as part of team
• Well-developed report writing skills
• Extensive experience in FEED and detailed design of Oil and Gas pipelines.
• Computer skills particularly in the use of CEASER package for stress analysis, and PIPENET, Pipe sim or equivalent for water networks.
• Excellent Command of English Language
