Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for technical guidance of the team members. Leads the designs and implements a variety of piping and plumbing systems related to water, waste water treatment plants, and many other similar projects. Knowledge of Intergraph SP3D is an advantage. Some of the duties might include coordination between various subcontractors and trades to fit all the pieces of the construction project neatly together. The position reviews proposed field changes, performs engineering analysis and makes recommendations to management.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess management skills and the ability to deliver projects
Issue clear directions on targets, communicate concisely and develop the piping team on projects.
Proven understanding of Pipe Standards and Specifications and proven skill at support selection.
Capable of pipe routing of all major process and utility piping in accordance with P&ID's and project standards, including specific service conditions and impact on piping design.
Shall be capable of preparing Standard Pipe Schedule (SPS) details for review/check by Stress Engineer; checking/correcting basic deliverables such as the preparation of piping classes, material specifications, e. g. valve data sheets
Maintain a strong work ethic and understand team dynamics and adjust behaviour to gain maximum advantage.
Detailed knowledge of Piping Design and Plant Layout aspects.
Supports the Construction and Assistant Construction Manager by evaluating and addressing engineering matters associated with the piping requirements of the construction package(s).
Performs site inspections and witnesses tests, as necessary, in support of piping matters identified by the Construction Management and the Construction Supervision Teams.
Tender review, cost estimate, manhour estimate and planning, technical contract negotiations with vendors and customers.
Supervision of the preparation of isometrics, general and piping arrangement drawings, support drawings and all kind of piping documents.
Reviews method statements and provides comments related to piping engineering designs.
Performs other engineering tasks as may be deemed necessary by the Project and/or Construction.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, and 15+ years of related work experience, GCC experience is preferred.

Experience in piping and specialty piping design, inspection, and testing required commensurate with the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects including water, storm sewer and foul sewer systems, irrigation systems, oil and gas industries and other piping systems.
