Lead Process Engineer (Design)

Job description / Role

The Supervisory Lead Technical Professional acts in the primary / lead role to provide process engineering for larger size projects (typically with multiple units) and will supervise the work of other process persons assigned to the project. Responsible for all aspects of a process engineering assignment requiring knowledge and application of chemical engineering fundamentals, and as the key process contact with the Client, must be a competent communicator. Reports to Project Manager for assigned project and administratively to Process Plants Process Engineering Department Manager.

• May assist Department Manager in providing technical excellence and standards for the department
• Assist with proposals
• Routinely communicate with Client counterpart in project
• Prepare work force staffing requirements and process schedules for assigned projects
• Routinely report job progress status
• Supervises work of other PEs assigned to project
• Oversees / reviews process simulations
• Oversees / reviews PFDs with H&WBs and presents to Clients as needed
• Oversees / reviews preparation of P&IDs and may present to Clients in Client review meetings
• Oversees / reviews hydraulic calculations
• Oversees / reviews Process Equipment and Instrument Data Sheets
• Oversees / reviews Relief Calculations and PSV process data
• May oversees / reviews process data for Line lists
• Prepares / reviews process descriptions and/or Study reports

Requirements

•15-20 years of experience to acquire sufficient experience and demonstrate understanding of principles of process engineering to reach the Supervisory Lead Technical Professional level
• Professional Engineering Registration preferred
