Legal Advisor

Job description / Role

Our client is a newly formed joint venture between two large Algerian and Qatari firms, to break ground on a mega project in Algeria. This massive project is for a steel plant, and related facilities, which aims to provide for all of Algerias steel needs in the future.

They are looking to recruit a Legal Advisor to be based in Doha

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributes to formulate and develop legal strategy, plans and budget for the legal department to ensure the legal policy guidelines implementation and adherence.
- Works on legal matters such as new agreements, reviewing existing agreements, establishing new companies, issue necessary documents to meet the requirements of multinational laws & maintain the International companies correct legal position.
- Provides a legal advice on the potential liability, in order to take necessary steps to control the company exposure.
- Contribution on establishment of legal guidelines for tenders and review all commercial contracts that company enters to ensure its interest are safe guarded.

Requirements

- Degree in Law
- Experience with Steel / mining Company
- 7-10 years of experience
- Excellent command of English
- Proven track record of drafting, reviewing and editing agreements and contracts
- Familiar with local and international laws and regulations
