Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for providing support to the Regional Legal Manager and the business leaders in Corporate legal affairs, including providing advice on the drafting of contractual terms, legal compliance issues and Corporate Government Affairs and undertaking legal document review.

Drafts legal documents;
Reviews contracts and advises on content and language;
Reviews new business terms and conditions with vendors and subcontractors;
Guides team leads and individuals on regulatory and compliance matters;
Analyses potential legal issues relating to proposed contractual terms and conditions;
Providing supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the Company with their specialised legal services;
Monitors and reviews new and updated laws and regulations and assesses impact on business in GCC;
Identifies potential legislative changes that may impact on future business operation;
Ensures business leaders are updated on relevant legislation amendments within region;
Builds own network within region and leverages best practice;
Manages the renewal of all Company trade licenses, liaising with both government offices, external counsel, and in house PRO teams to ensure smooth and timely renewal of all licenses;
Ensures accuracy of paperwork submitted in support of Company trade license renewals or applications;
Advises the business leaders on Corporate entity registrations;
Arranges for attested documents required for Company trade licenses from Group internal departments and external providers;
Prepares and files any government requirements relating to trade licenses;
Represents the Company alongside Corporate PRO before administrative boards and court appointments as and when required

Requirements

Knowledge

Bachelor's law degree is essential;
Knowledge of local law, regulations and statutory requirements passed by government agencies across the GCC;
Fluent in both English and Arabic (written and verbal);

Delivery focused individual with the ability to work in a self-sufficient manner;
Ability to build strong relationships/networks with stakeholders and maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
Good IT skills including word and excel;

Experience

A minimum of 3 years legal experience, preferably in house experience post-qualification;
Experience of drafting contractual terms;
Post qualification experience gained in house desirable, but not essential;
Preferably corporate legal experience.
