Job description / Role

Legal Advisor - MENA

- Assist the MENA Management in design, develop and modify legal documents and contracts; also to file and keep track on all legal documents
- Ensure that the organization carries out its statutory obligations and to protect its interests

The main areas of responsibility:
- Provide Legal Support and Maintain Corporate Governance for the MENA Region
- Manage and Supervise External Counsel
- Maintain legal library for MENA region, including the main contracts
- Negotiate and Represent Company with Third Parties on specific topics to ensure that the legal aspects of any decisions are fully considered Including governmental entities within the UAE, GCC and MENA Region and conduct due diligence in accordance with relevant regulations
- Regional Corporate Transactions Negotiating and drafting all forms of contracts, various commercial agreement/transactions and reviewing all contracts/legal documents generated or received by the DM companies throughout the Region ensuring that these are legally sound and / or to ensure that the organizations interests are safeguarded
- Minimize Risk Exposure and Ensuring Compliance with Government Regulations
- Dispute Resolution and Risk Management
- Provide accurate legal advice to managers and staff and ensure that decisions taken are legally correct
- Carry out research and prepare reports on any legally complex issues to ensure that the organization has full information about the legal implication of any decisions
- Maintain an awareness of developments in the legal field relevant to the organization, including reviewing and reporting on the implications of any new legislation
- Review Third party contracts before sending to Corporate office for approval

Requirements

- Relevant law qualification, i.e. bachelor of law or a higher degree
- Knowledge of the legal authorities in the UAE
- Knowledge of legal terminology
- Ability to analyze legal documents
- Presentation skills
- Strong communication skills (both Arabic and English are a must)
- Negotiation skills
- Time management
