Job description / Role

The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Ensuring total compliance of company policies and  procedures at all levels to protect ADNOC Distribution's legal well being and interests at all times and in accordance and in conformity with its declared business principals and standards.
Protecting the company from damages, risks, claims and adverse legal implications. Reviewing company contracts. Assessing actual, potential or perceived risks in contracts and legal documents and accordingly providing professional legal expertise.
Representing the company in a wide range of commercial litigations, civil and commercial contract disputes, mediation and alternate dispute resolution proceedings. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
Preparing claims and counter-claims for presentation before Arbitration proceedings for settling commercial disputes. Preparing MOUs, Confidentiality Agreements, Non- Disclosure Agreements etc.
Providing legal advice to various departments within the company, as and when required, and assisting them with the interpretation of complex legal documents. Conducting legal orientation programmes for company staff.
Reviewing documents for approvals, or recommending alternate action relating to company's lawsuits, strategies or appeals. Conducting core activities central to the company's business and preparing drafts/legal documents and writing legal correspondence.
Meeting national and international clients in a wide range of legal and commercial matters arising out of business transactions. Keeping abreast of any developments of laws/regulations whether federal or relating to the Government of Abu Dhabi.
Assisting and following up on court cases, claims, counter claims, and statements and preparing necessary documentation. Ensuring that in contentious matters ADNOC Distribution is defended timely before adjudicating bodies. Providing legal solutions for disputes or conflicts which could not be resolved through normal administrative channels.
Assisting in cases by attending meetings when required in order to discuss case details, and by providing any requested data or information to external lawyers in order to ensure that they are in possession of all the facts and documentary evidence for favourable judicial pronouncements.
Representing the company on legal issues, with Government Ministries and Various Departments i.e. Police, Attorney General, Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Labour, Rent Disputes Settlement Committee etc and other various legal and official councils. Appearing before public prosecution. Advising the company on prosecuting or defending lawsuits.

Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Law
* Oil & Gas experience
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
