The RoleThe RoleTo lead, advise and protect the legal affairs of The Corporate by ensuring adherence to legal practices and procedures in the day-to-day activities of The Corporate; advise the CEO and Board of Directors on legal issues to ensure that The Corporate complies with all statutory legal requirements and is adequately represented in litigation and hearings. Role include areas of: 1. Strategy and Business Alignment 2. Policies and Processes 3. Legal Advice 4. Legal Liaison and Outsourcing 5. Legal Investigation 6. Trademark Registration and Company Registration 7. Legal Documentation and Library 8. People Development |
RequirementsRequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Level of Education Post Graduate or Graduate Law degree, preferably Civil Law, additional qualification in English Common Law will be an added advantage Experience 10-15 years experience in the legal function of which at least 3 years should have been as a practicing lawyer, preferably with experience in the real estate or construction sector. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (Special technical skills & knowledge needed for the satisfactory performance of the job) Functional Knowledge - Knowledge of the legal framework including commercial law - Knowledge of administrative and judicial procedures, principles, methods, materials - Legal research skills - PC Literacy including the ability to work with Microsoft Office. Behavioral Skills : - Leadership - Complex Problem Solving - Decision making - Detail Orientation - Negotiation - Relationship Management - Results Orientation |
