Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012. The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to their MENA team to prepare legal contracts and ensure alignment with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel – MENA; this role is responsible for the following:

• Provide legal advice to user Departments on legal issues referred by the General Counsel.
• Review and draft policies and regulations, to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable law.
• Clarify and interpret laws to the firm’s management and keep abreast of relevant legislation.
• Defend the firm’s rights through legal evidence.
• Follow up on legal suits and arbitration to which the firm is a party.
• Draft and translate English and Arabic letters and legal documents addressed to formal entities.
• Draft, review and negotiate all contractual arrangements with vendors and service providers.
• Develop standard agreements and review all agreements to ensure the firm is protected legally.
• Provide the legal support needed for the firm’s Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs.
• Prepare legal studies and memos as requested from time to time by the General Legal Counsel.
• Review, develop and update legal standard drafting format.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for suitably qualified candidates comprise:

• Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized University with a minimum of 5 years professional experience from a law firm, as a legal counsel or comparable.
• Bilingual in English and Arabic.
• Candidates with experience the broadcasting or media industry will be highly regarded.
• Exceptional communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in the MENA region is desirable.
