Employment: Full Time

A leading Developer and Construction company based in Qatar is seeking to recruit a highly experienced Legal Counsel.

The role will be broad in nature and will include general commercial issues, leasing, employment law, franchising, pricing, property and some regional matters. The legal role is new for the Company as such you can expect a high degree of autonomy that will see you get hands on with a variety of tasks from ensuring that all existing contracts are legally compliant, establishing compliance and legal frameworks as well as more matter relating to the firms expansion within Qatar particularly with Group Governance and Policy.

Role And Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate various legal documents, including tenancy agreements, license agreements, sales and purchase agreements, distribution agreements, consignment agreements, franchise agreements, etc.;
- Provide legal support for the Groups internal business units;
- Handle transaction matters for the Group, e.g. maintaining portfolios and monitoring trademark cases;
- Handle arrange of commercial matters as and when required (Employment, IP, litigation, etc.);
- Liaise with external lawyers.
- Assist external lawyers in title and survey reviews;
- Organizing and coordinating property acquisition activities;
- Assisting in the creating and limited liability companies including dissolution of businesses;
- Assist in resolving leasing disputes, rent or repossession matters and construction related disputes;
- Advise management on their legal rights and obligations;
- Examination of national and international laws to identify rules that company must follow or conflicts that might arise.

Deliverables
- Monthly Status Report of Activities
- Log of Agreements and Assignments
- Drafting policy and Procedure Statements
- Drafting Legal Organizational Structures for the company and Group Companies

Requirements

- Graduate degree in Law, USA, UK, Europe or Egypt.
- Qualified solicitor with 10 years of post-qualification-experience gained within the retail or property industry;
- Solid experience in handling corporate / commercial work;
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;
- Passionate about the retail industry with sound language and interpersonal skills;
- Independent, responsible and able to work alongside people with different seniority and background.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- High ethical standards.
- Arabic language skills a must.
