Legal Counsel - Doha - Leading Financial Institution

A leading financial institution is seeking an in-house Legal Counsel to join their team in Doha. The role involves; developing and implementing the departments tactical plans, providing legal advice to the business team in order to help achieve goals and protect the organisations interests, ensure due diligence is followed, review and draft legal documents and contracts, deal with government bodies to ensure that interests are protected, keeping up to date with changes in the legal field, assisting senior management in identifying legal resources and suitable firms and training junior lawyer or trainees, among others.

Requirements

- Have a Bachelor degree in Law or equivalent (Masters preferred)
- Must have experience of advising on setting up PE Funds (for fund managers), plus ideally reviewing PE Fund docs (for investors).
- Have between 6 to 8 years post qualified experience at an international law firm or investment banking/asset management environment
- Possess high calibre exposure in dealing with the establishment of investment funds
- Be fluent in written and verbal English
- Have the ability to work in different areas of the legal department when required
- Be able to handle a large number of projects with minimal supervision

Skills that are not mandatory however are beneficial:
- Currently residing in the State of Qatar or Middle East region.
