Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Legal Counsel is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

Prepare, draft, amend agreements within authority parameters such as service agreements and commercial agreements ensuring that all agreements are in-line and favourable to Supreme Group.

Liaise with external legal counsel and external parties to negotiate and cement favourable contracts for Supreme.

Conduct research and analysis of legal matters to provide advice on all legal matters to any BU within the company.

Analyse legislation and regulation in diverse jurisdictions ensuring that we are in compliance with all laws and regulations.

Provide legal guidance to the internal BU teams on various joint ventures and M&A transactions

Anticipate and identify legal issues and in case law, changes solutions for any issues.

Evaluate legal issues and risks in new business initiatives and commercial tenders to avoid any legal issues that may arise for Supreme.

Prepare and update legal reports, minutes of meetings, summaries and analyses to be provided to the senior team for their review and discussion.

Establish, renew wind-up of the Group’s companies and branch offices worldwide (e.g. in geographies such as US, Europe, Africa and the Middle East), ensuring that all legalities are undertaken.

Management of disputes and contentious matters (within authority parameters) whether internal or external as per internal policies and laws of the nation.

Requirements

Law degree from Common Law jurisdiction

Must have 3 PQE and minimum 5 years of work experience.

The ability to handle a diverse work load and multi-task are crucial to succeed in this position

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Should be highly responsive to all internal stakeholders

Must demonstrate the ability to multi task and work in a high pressure environment

Must demonstrate the ability to work with senior management Must be detail orientated

High degree of initiative and must be a self starter

Corporate and commercial experience, working within a respected International Law Firm Fluent in English (spoken and written)
