Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

-Prepare and review agreements held between Arab Bank plc & external parties, including but not limited to procurement agreements, labor agreements, construction agreements and trade agreements.
-Participate in AB investigation committees in cases of breaches committed by AB employees, and provide special / general recommendations.
-Review and prepare loans / credit agreement, terms and conditions, documentation for corporate and retail banking services to ensure the legality of those contracts. Also, review the collateral granted to the Bank to ensure its enforceability.
-Ensure the legality and adequacy of any letter issued by the Bank / notices to customers, third parties or any official authority.
-Provide legal consultation on the Bank's operations, and advise other departments on legal aspects of their respective business lines
-Closely supervise and co-ordinate with the Bank's external legal advisors.
-Manage all bank’s pending litigation.
Review and draft the Bank's internal policies and procedures.
-Ensure the applicability and compliance with the Central Bank regulations in relation to banking matters.
-Review any banking services campaign, promotion or prizes, and any banking products.
-Draft all forms of mandate letters or power of attorney issued by the Bank to any of its officers.
-File the registration for any design, sign or brand used by the Bank for IP protection purposes at the competent official authorities.

Requirements

Education:
Minimum LLB, and a member of a recognized bar association. Preferred Masters in Law (L.L.M) awarded by a reputable institution in the UK or USA.

Experience:
At least 5-8 years after qualifying as a lawyer at the Bar Association requirements.

Competencies:
- Arabic and English languages (reading and writing).
- Good knowledge in Banking and Central bank regulations.
- Good Computer skills.
- Good communication Skills.
- Ability to organize and plan.
- Ability to work under pressure.
