Job description / Role
Our client, a renowned government in Dubai is looking for a Legal Director to lead the development of an appropriate regulatory framework for the Authority, while ensuring implementation is in alignment with local, federal and international standards
- To provide comprehensive advice on legal & governance matters to ensure legal exposure and offer sound legal risk assessment
- Benchmark new and/or updated legislation, laws and regulations of other free zones in the UAE and internationally to recommend changes to the regulatory framework
- Review new legislation that may impact the free zone and provide legal opinion to the relevant local and federal authorities
- Direct the development and oversee the implementation of the regulatory framework
- Lobby when appropriate of any federal or local laws and legislation in order to mitigate any impact on the free zones
- Collaborate with different stakeholders in order to create a compelling and compliant proposal
- Prepare the rules, regulations and legislation in line with the Decree, Laws, and Order for implementation
- Review, amend and submit for approval draft MOUs, SLAs, agreements, communications and contracts with third parties/authorities
Requirements
The successful candidate with have gained a legal degree from a recognised university and have 10 yrs + experience.
Ideally a fluent Arabic Speaker/UAE National is preferable but candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
This is an URGENT position with a view to an immediate hire.
