Legal Director

Job description / Role

- Develop and direct the implementation of the Legal and Litigation function strategy in line with the functional strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies
- Develop and recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of Legal and Litigation activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality
- Liaise with external legal counsel, ensuring that a sound legal service is provided
- Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with all relevant internal/external stakeholders
- Monitor the financial performance of the Legal and Litigation function against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly

Requirements

- A Bachelors Degree in law
- A Masters Degree in law is preferred
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a
- Legal/lawyer role with at least 5 years of management experience
- Excellent English/Arabic language and communication skills, particularly writing skills
- Knowledge of local and free zone laws, rules and regulations in the region
- Experience in lobbying and regulation
