Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Client, An international law firm based in Dubai, is now looking to appoint a Legal Secretary for their Corporate team.

The role will comprise of the following duties:
- Undertake work assigned by the relevant fee earner and assist other colleagues, including from other departments, when able to do so.
- Maintaining the document storage and retrieval system and other records on a regular basis.
- Produce correspondence and documents in English and Arabic by audio and copy typing within required deadlines and in correct house style.
- Typing, formatting and proof-reading Arabic documentation.
- Translating legal documentation in the English and Arabic languages, as assigned by the Supervising Partner.
- Management of the monthly billing process, including liaison with external clients regarding credit control.
- Accurately translate legal documents from English to Arabic (and vice versa).
- Answer telephone queries and take messages, making sure messages are passed to relevant colleagues in a timely fashion.

Requirements

- A proactive self-starter with a mature attitude towards work;
- Excellent and accurate typing and document skills in Arabic and English - essential;
- Excellent IT knowledge (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Previous experience in a leading law firm - preferred;
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong organisation and time management skills;
- Strong communication in both English and Arabic and inter-personal skills;
- Ability to use initiative and take responsibility;
- Confident and trustworthy;
- Able to work as an active team member;
