Legal Translator

Roles & Responsibilities
• Translate legal texts and documents clearly and accurately
• Provide Legal team and other departments with certified official translation of documents
• Edit and proof read translations done by other members within ALDAR or outsourced to ensure the quality of translation conforms to ALDAR standards
• Review and quality assure translations done by external vendors to ensure the service provided conforms to ALDAR standards and achieves the required meaning
• Liaise with the external government agencies when requiring Arabic, particularly Notary Public
• Provide support to Company Secretary and Legal Services by assisting with Trade License applications and other Arabic documents required by government departments

Accountability
Review and produce written translations of contractual and legal documents from Arabic to
English and vice versa

Requirements

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics or Law
Legal translation certificate

Experience
3+ years of legal translation experience (Arabic / English)

Competencies
• Excellent Arabic and English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of legal terminology in English and Arabic
• Ability to prioritize actions
• Team Player
• Commercially aware and able to act in ALDAR’s best interests
• Professional manner but able to take firm and timely decisions
• Attention to detail
• High Speed Typing – Arabic and English
