The RoleThe RoleWorld Class Transshipment Port USD 93,000 + benefits Based in Oman A challenging opportunity now exists for a Liquid Bulk Manager (General Cargo Terminal) at this world class sea port in Salalah, Oman. Responsibilities Manages activities, provides knowledge/guidelines for subordinates/berth users, puts in place procedures/criteria for liquid operations and acts as catalyst and mediator for any internal or external business/stakeholders issues. Ensures high standards of safety and efficiency, while adhering to the highest quality and safety standards and port rules and regulations. Provide necessary information related to liquid bulk operators on the region or neighbouring countries for purpose of consultancy. Propose the best liquid bulk operators for purpose of mutual agreement. Set Up and implement standard operations procedures (SOPs) for liquid jetty operations. Set Criteria/KPIs that measure performance and highlight any variances on objectives. Ensure clear guidelines that lead to high productivity and achieve essential objectives. Propose and prepare business case studies for any capital requirements. Prepare necessary reports and statistics that reflect terminal performance and activities. Participate and attend internal & external meetings that aim to develop the current business or strengthen the jetty ops Periodically review and update all relevant procedures in line with business requirements. Ensure the availability of all necessary resources (e.g. manpower and equipment) to meet the requirements of the business. Ensure safe and healthy environment for GCT employees and port users Act as a focal point for any internal & external issues associated to liquid jetty operations or future business. Periodically participate with senior management team in formulating and reviewing the port strategic plan Act as a focal point for any special activities particularly related to business opportunities. Liaise with commercial to evaluate and manage any new business that requires special knowledge Perform any activities that related to liquid bulk jetty and other activates might be required. Liaise and coordinate with PDI for any technical requirements that are associated with constructing and implementing the liquid bulk project. Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by senior management. |
RequirementsRequirementsRequirements: A Bachelor degree in related discipline Requires at least 5 years and above in supervisory experience in liquid shipping, stevedoring operations environment, or similar, related industry. Requires an in-depth, comprehensive understanding of port stevedoring/terminal operations, especially vessel cargo logistics, hazardous cargo, break-bulk and special cargo handling requirements. Requires knowledge and experience in various port terminal/stevedoring handling equipment and activities related to vessel, tankers operations. Requires knowledge and experience of general shipping industry; commercial as well as technical. Requires a certificate in safe liquid chemical materials handling. |
