A challenging opportunity now exists with an international provider of security consulting and risk management services. Part of the service offering is to provide logistics, warehousing and inventory management services in difficult environments.
Primary responsibility of the Logistics Controller is to provide a forward located coordination and control function at the central project mobilisation point in Basra. This position will report to the Logistics Manager.
Coordinate the issue and return of mobilisation stocks, including the dispatch of ad-hoc deliveries to the site, by the logistics service provider.
Monitor the performance of the service provider.
Conduct periodic stock checks and inspection of returned demobilisation equipment if necessary and classify for disposal or re-use.
Look after local purchase if and when necessary. This includes identifying local suppliers on an ad-hoc basis and ensuring correct approvals are sought in accordance with the authority matrix and project budgets.
Manage two small local stores of non-mobilisation items and ad-hoc items.
Comply with issued process and procedure documents.
Demonstrated experience at a Logistics Controller level within a similar business and have a strong background in Administration, Supply/Inventory/Materials Management and local Procurement.
Experience of store room management, stock auditing & stock reports (inventory, stock in, stock out).
Experience in Iraq or similar environment will be looked upon favourably.
Solid skills in providing operational excellence in a fast moving and demanding environment.
Excellent numeracy and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to verbally brief senior management.
Advance MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Pro-active, resilient and a team-player.
