Our client has the most expansive direct distribution networks in the GCC, providing state-of-the- art technology leadership in the manufacturing of its products. They are currently seeking a Logistics Manager to join their team in Iraq.

Responsibilities:
• Accountable with overall responsibility for the logistics function and the dispatch planning activities. Driving accuracy, productivity and performance and the movement of stock by efficiently managing the logistics functions for the Business Unit.
• Contribute to the development of the Logistics strategy and plans in line with the organizational strategies and business needs.
• Ensure that unit objectives are effectively communicated across the Logistics function and a line of sight is created between individual jobholders and the unit/departmental strategy.
• Responsible for managing all the importation of company’s products into Iraq by sea and land through Basra port, Kuwait borders and Jordan borders.
• Planning and scheduling the delivery of goods across all branches in Iraq from Basra.
• Identify cost effective methods on how to deliver these goods across all branches and from port to branches without passing central warehouse
• Serve as a liaison person with all external and internal customers, managing the relationships with on-going partners.
• Accountable for tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of stock movements across all branches in Iraq.
• Responsible for setting targets and ensuring that all set delivery targets are met. Develop and implement a score card and measures for all key branches.
• Work on a daily basis with all the major branches to understand their forecasts and product requirements by SKU.
• Accountable to recruit and manage the clearing agencies for all borders across Iraq.
• Reduce the cost and time of clearance across all borders.
• Develop direct reports through setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Business related subject
• Minimum of 10-12 years in Logistics field
• Knowledge of the Iraqi import regulations and dynamics.
• Must be able to manage several key entry ports - Basra, Kuwait and Jordan.
• Has strong supply chain management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of freight and transport industries.
• Must be able to prioritize time effectively.
• Able to be familiar with all the major Iraqi cities and distribution warehouses and make sound delivery decision daily.
• Must have some knowledge on the retail logistics set up.
• Must be fluent in English and Arabic
• Iraqi national is preferred
