Our client is one of the world’s largest independent shipping, logistics and marine services company. They are actively seeking a professional Logistics Manager to take on responsibility of controlling and managing the logistics activity in Turkmenistan with respect to operations, accounts, HR and business development. The position will report to the GM – Turkmenistan.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Oversee and manage logistics operations in Turkmenistan. Ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Drive the logistics business unit towards increased profitability and growth.
• Coordinate with the other relevant business entities to increase company's market share in specifically targeted areas
• Actively monitor and control all major projects undertaken by the company. Such projects will usually be in Turkmenistan but may also be in other countries or regions.
• Guide and assist all logistics staff in constant improvement of operational process and activities.
• Assist Local and Regional management to develop and maintain good relationships with customers and potential customers.
• Manage relationships with primary sub-contracts and suppliers such as trucking companies, shipping lines, customs, port authorities and other relevant bodies
• Take an active role in encouraging and assisting the business development of the company's logistics business in Turkmenistan, and where possible both regionally and globally as well
• Ensure correct and accurate flow of information from the logistics department to Accounts
• Supervise and manage on time payment of suppliers. Monitor receivables and assist in collection of due or overdue payments as required.
• Develop the company's local Logistics operations through assistance and training of local Logistics staff
• Build up as required the company's Local Logistics staffing levels in order to increase logistics capabilities within Turkmenistan. Ensure all staff are of the highest quality available.
• Travel both within Turkmenistan and internationally as and when required in order to fulfil the requirements of the Logistics Manager’s role.

Requirements

Requirements:
• 10 – 15 years experience within logistics, 3PL sea & air freight, some of which in a difficult region/environment
• Proven experience in the Oil and Gas industry an advantage
• Strong commercial and management background
• Ability to lead and develop a multi-cultural team in a challenging environment
• Ability to supervise staff and effectively manage day-to-day problems
• Very strong leadership and negotiating skills
• Strong personality
• Hands on
• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
• Excellent Russian language skills, both written and oral
• Good English language skills, both written and oral
• Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, MS-Outlook)
