Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A leading rail / metro project management consultant is currently looking to recruit for Senior Logistics Manager to be responsible in Development and implementation of a warehousing strategy including continuous improvement with cost efficient, on time, safe and quality proofed fuel storing and distributing. This job is based in Dubai and reports directly to Procurement & Logistics Director.

Responsibilities
- Manage the logistics requirement of the JV for the physical supply of materials, assets, components and consumables to place of need.
- Manage the logistics requirement for the collection, transport and sale or disposal of recyclable products or wastes as is to UAE legal requirements and international best practice.
- Put in place appropriate plan of Service Level Agreements for the transport and storage of all the materials, assets, components and consumables that it needs to function.
- Research and understand the key markets from which transport and storage solutions will be required, including sea, road and air freight to ensure that the JV obtains the best available solutions.
- Work with the IT, Finance and the Procurement teams to ensure that robust and compliant material management process and systems are in place.
- Manage a team of people to operate the JVs own facilities and transport requirements.
- Ensure contracts are only maintained with suppliers with recognized policies in Social Responsibility so as not to harm the reputation of the JV.
- The Logistics Senior Manager will bring international best practice and develop staff in the UAE.
- To comply with health and safety management system and other company documents where specific responsibility is identified with the role or as a general requirement on all employees
- Being aware of the current policies and procedures and their responsibilities for protecting corporate assets;

Requirements

- University degree is advantage
- High level of affinity to and experience with Business computing solutions, ideally also with SAP
- Experienced logistician with an ability to operate in a complex international environment with multi-cultural competences.
- English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
- Good planning, project management and structuring skills
- Analytical skills for problem solving
- Experience in writing company standards
- Knowledge of Logistic requirements within repair business
- Represent the Procurement & Logistics Director at meetings as directed
