Job description / Role
Logistics Operation Manager Iraq Nationality
Our client, an affiliate of a leading Korean conglomerate is currently seeking to recruit a Logistics Operation Manager
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform other duties as assigned)
Operational Administration
Manage working levels of Company's logistics business in Iraq, in terms of operations and marketing
Overall administration of the delivery process as a whole, from off-shore activities, customs clearance, storage & warehousing, to inland delivery to the customers job-site
Manage quotations from forwarders, arrange all shipping documents, overview the customs clearance process, manage the warehouses inventory, arrange shipment in trucking, arrange ocean shipment (if necessary)
Serve as an expert technical resource in the logistics value chain as a whole, cooperating with in-field staff
Recommend and implement business process improvements
Keep record of all documents for rectification with vendors
Communicate with supervisors and peers in Dubai to provide all business documents and answer questions to upper management supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Manage the staff, rate each staffs performance, provide feedbacks
Sales & Marketing
Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests from all concerned parties
Resolve cost and customer satisfaction issues, if any
Research and develop new prospective customer network in Iraq
Fortify relationship with governmental officers in sectors related to Company's business
Communicate with people outside the organization, the companies in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
Requirements
Person Profile QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum 7 years of experience in the logistics sector (preferably +3 years in supervisory position)
Iraqi Citizen or equivalent presence/experience in Iraq
Bachelors degree
Speaking, writing, and reading proficiency in Arabic (native speaker) and English.
Must have a profound understanding and experience in general shipping procedures related to Incoterms 2010
Outstanding communication skills with employees and Iraqi government officials
Work Experience either in a shipping line, freight forwarding, or inland trucking company in Iraq
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
Regional oversight responsibilities
Profound knowledge about shipping and documents such as arranging a shipment and handling export & import customs
Ability to multi-task in several different field and ability to communicate with people of different nationalities
Leadership and good interpersonal skills are a must
Ability to read and interpret contracts, shipping orders, invoices and shipping documents in English.
Efficient in handling computer applications such as MS Office
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
