Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Under general supervision, responsible for the core third party Transportation Management System (TMS) software configuration and maintenance, and the efficient use of the TMS and Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM) system for planning and coordinating orders for shipment of cargo from point of origin to point of destination to ensure product meets the required delivery in the most cost efficient method. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Information Systems and 1 years of experience in Associate Logistics Planner or similar TMS/SCEM Logistics Planner role which includes experience in hands-on TMS/SCEM functionality

1. Maintains up to date country and plant shipping instructions by mode of
transportation
2. Negotiates agreements with local carriers, forwarding and customs agents
when allowed
3. Coordinates with the internal and external customers in preparation of goods
for shipping
4. Ensures goods are properly packed to avoid damage during shipping; contents
correctly recorded; marks and labels are correct physical parameters recorded and
shipping instructions and global logistics guidelines complied with
5. Creates documentation from SAP required to ship goods to end destination as
per shipping instructions
6. Obtains import and export permits and licenses for goods regarding hazardous
7. Controls service providers invoices and approves for payment
8. Checks products in Dangerous Goods Manual to confirm they are dangerous
and assign the proper United Nations number
9. Owns the Logistics Practice Manual review and update process for the area of
responsibility
10. Ensures compliance of the logistics organization with policies, procedures and
local laws, and global logistics guidelines

Requirements

University Qualifications: Bachelors degree
Nature and length of previous experience: Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in Logistics
Specialist knowledge: SAP
Nationality Preference: Oman
Language Fluency: Arabic
Current Location: Oman
