Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Under general supervision, is accountable for higher responsibility and more complex logistics transactions such as controlled goods, explosives, etc.
Ensures efficient movement of goods in compliance with company policies, procedures and local laws, including in-country transportation as well as exportation and importation of goods.
The position requires proven specific expertise in one or more modes of transportation (Ground, Ocean or Air Freight; Inter-modal, etc.). Under general supervision, provides strategic support on global logistics and transportation requirements.
Designs optimal routing and distribution of cargo.
Benchmarks global volume and cost trends by mode of transportation and lane.
Negotiates charter agreements that are not covered by the category management. Receive and analyze feedback on suppliers’ performance and makes necessary recommendations. International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate required for International operations

Must be experienced in two - three modes of transportation.
Must have full knowledge of hazardous movement.
Supervises performance of service providers and communicates with them to solve any complications quickly with innovation,
Provides feedback to management on value of service provider.
Drives improvements to help level load business and works with management to understand trends. Works with end customer to ensure results are achieved

Requirements

University Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
Other certifications obtained: IATA / IMDG / APIC - CSCP
Nature and length of previous experience: 3-5 years of experience in International Freight
Language Fluency: Arabic is a must
Current Location: Oman
