MEP Construction Manager

Job description / Role

Our Saudi based client has just been awarded a prestigious, 3 year, high-rise / hotel project and they now require an experienced MEP Construction manager to join their team.

JOB PURPOSE
Provide necessary direction, definition & coordination to ensure execution of construction activities in accordance with project requirements.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible to the Project Manager for day to day operation of the project's construction activities.
Manage projects from early pre-construction phase to completion and final acceptance.
Plan the project's construction activities associated with engineering completions, material requirements, integrated schedules & manpower loadings.
Ensure overall construction works is in conformity with the contract drawings and specifications and budget set.
Develop construction execution plan in coordination with project engineers, identify any deviations from agreed scope, assess their impact and ensure remedial action during execution.
Manage multiple contractors and their time schedules, and maintain continual communications with clients and contractors.
Negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Arrange for timely procurement of all construction materials including storage and administration and monitor returns/damages.
Manage and administer personnel on the construction site including plant/labour records and document variations.
Produce appropriate reports on progress, performance & completion for Project Management which includes budget estimates, cost tracking reports etc.
Ensure safety standards and procedures are implemented and followed in accordance with contract requirements and Company guidelines.
Ensure quality control throughout the project and coordinate disposition of all non-conformances to contract requirements.

Annual Value of Project approximate AED 500 Million
Annual Total Turnover approximate AED.150-200 Million

JOB / COST IMPACT
Has complete accountability for construction of projects from the Pre-Construction Phase to Construction Phase through to Project Close Out Phase.

COMMUNICATION
Internal contacts: Key staff on site, Commercial Manager/QS ,Superintendent(s), Plant Manager.
External contacts: Contractor (Client), Third Tier Subcontractors, Main Suppliers.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with engineering codes, work scheduling and controlling.
In depth knowledge of the construction processes , contract specification and budget planning.
Good knowledge of quality and safety requirements.
Good administrative knowledge and good knowledge of the local labour relations.
Good knowledge of materials, equipment and tools.
Experience in contractual negotiations for construction work, and supervision of third party work.
Conversant with project planning and related engineering software packages.
Good knowledge of contracts construction law in general and of his contract in particular.

Requirements

Degree qualification in a suitable engineering subject is a must.
WESTERN PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY.
Required to start in 4-6 weeks.
