Our client, one of the fastest growing public safety and security solutions organisations globally, is looking to recruit qualified and experienced MEP Coordinators to their UAE team. As the portfolio of infrastructure / civil projects across the Middle East continues to expand, so too does our employer, a leading provider of public safety and security solutions. Looking to expand their ranks and with long term prospects providing stability and career development, our employer is seeking to welcome a professional and experienced MEP Coordinators for their multi-billion dollar infrastructure project. As a key member of the Delivery Team, you will be responsible to interpret contract documents such as AFC, DD drawings, specifications, phase plans, MEP systems, inter-relationships, workflow and schedule and address problems that may develop between consultants and subcontractors.

We seek multiple MEP Coordinators who each have a specialty in the following:

Public Health and Plumbing: with WWTP and sewerage services.
Electrical: with High and Low Voltage experience.
Building Management Systems: experience with alarm monitoring systems and building systems.
HVAC: experience with ventilation, machinery and air conditioning.
Fire: experience with fire inspection systems, sprinklers and gas systems.

Reporting to the MEP Subject Matter Expert, this role is responsible for the following:

Review and check/undertake all basic calculations (hydraulic, electrical and HVAC).
Coordinate with design consultant on reviews for shop drawings, MEP related designs, HVAC, electrical, firefighting suppression & detection systems and provide solutions / options.
Assist in reviews of MEP, electrical, HVAC, firefighting suppression/detection design submittals, and including technical reviews of material submittals from consultants / contractors.
Log and post all MEP changes into field drawings (as built).
Review scope of works for contractor including budgeting and justification of MEP variations.
Review and inspect installation of MEP, electrical, HVAC, firefighting suppression / detection systems.
Direct, monitor and manage MEP contractor activities against agreed programme.
Coordinate and manage MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals.
Liaison with MEP consultant, engineers, subcontractors and governmental authorities.
Ensure MEP subcontractors adhere with relevant quality records /regulations including safety.
Provide cost estimate support for maintenance projects.
Monitor and report MEP work progress.
Review drawings submitted by main contractor and verify bill of quantities.
Review contractor monthly progress valuation of MEP work prior to invoicing.
Undertake all testing and commissioning works, verify results/ troubleshoot in order meet the design intent mechanical plant and equipment.
Work from design to installation and commissioning to assisting project management teams.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this pivotal role include:

Degree in Engineering - Electrical / Mechanical with a minimum of 10+ years engineering experience from the construction industry with 5 years experience in the MENA sector.
Work experience in HVAC, MEP, firefighting and drainage systems is essential
Need complex design experience, be able to read drawings and interpret scope of works.
Must have an understanding of both UAE and international codes and standards.
Able to deliver under stress and work with minimum supervision.
