Major multi-disciplinary consultancy - Based in Kuwait

Our client is a major multi-disciplinary Architecture and Engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation throughout the Middle East and continued geographical expansion plans in the region due to several new project awards. A new opportunity has arisen for an MEP Quantity Surveyor (pre contract) to join its team based in Kuwait.

The MEP QS shall take lead role in the preparation of Bills of Quantities, Cost Estimates and Front-End Tender Documents (specifically related to Electrical & ICT works). This shall comprise quantity take-offs, BoQ production, preparation of cost estimates and cost plan, life cycle costing, preparation of tender documents and tender evaluation reports.

Typical duties will include but are not limited to:
- Quantity take-offs for building and infrastructure projects (specifically related to Electrical & ICT works).
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities for building and infrastructure projects.
- Preparation of cost estimates and life cycle costs at different stages of the Project (specifically related to Electrical & ICT Works).
- Assist in preparation of pre-qualification documents and evaluation.
- Preparation of tender documents including front-end document.
- Preparation of tender evaluation reports including technical and financial evaluation.
- Drafting contractual correspondence.

Requirements

- Degree qualified or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Possess a minimum of 7 years post qualification experience in MEP working for QS Consultants / PM/CM and ideally some time working for a Contractor on MEP.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- In-depth MEP and ICT pricing knowledge and understanding.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills - both written and oral.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining strict deadlines.
- Proactive and professional approach towards work.
- Bilingual Arabic and English speaking candidates will be at an advantage - this is however, not essential.
