The Role


The Role


Core Purpose of Job:
• To provide tactical strategic support to the Poultry Division in planning the inbound supplies of raw materials , packing materials and bought –in-product so as to ensure that the agreed service levels are met at all times and covering all customers.

Areas of Responsibility (AOR)
1. Analyse updated monthly Sales Forecasts and report major changes from previous forecasts and budgeted volumes.
2. Analyse past and projected usages of materials and constraints to establish appropriate service / safety stock levels.
3. Sets the inventory metrics, to include on-time supplier delivery, quality standards, inventory volumes and the communication of these standards to suppliers, along with monitoring the activities and actions to ensure suppliers meet these guidelines while ensuring assigned goals are met or exceed.
4. Oversees the MRP / Supply Planning function by setting directions on longer- term strategies to ensure the goals of the Planning Department are effectively achieved.
5. Owns and maintains all SAP automation projects within the department to ensure that manual and off SAP activities are minimised.
6. Oversees and maintains the Working Capital budgets for all BOMs & BIPS.
7. Supports programs to plan supplier’s capacities on the basis of 5 year plans.
8. Assists in the development of inventory policies and procedures to keep the inventory at economical levels and minimise out of stock and over stock situations.
9. Coordinates the planning activities related to the launch of new products together with the rest of the divisions within Sales and Production Planning.

Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
2. At least 5 years experience in inventory control or materials/supply planning or both.
3. Very knowledgeable in concepts, technical matters and best practices related to materials management and control. Knows how to determine and set inventory parameters for optimum work flow and usage of company resources.
4. Experience in usage of ERP software (Baan, SAP, Microsoft).

Desirable
1. Experience in procurement / purchasing
2. SAP R3 experience.
3. Very good knowledge in using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Experience:
Essential responsibilities executed (Generic Description)
1. 2-3 years supervisory or higher level position within a supply chain environment.
2. Has previously worked in a multi-cultural work environment preferably in the Middle East.

Desirable responsibilities (Generic Description)
1. Previous experience in SAP R/3 PP/WMS/BWH environment
2. Has previous experience in an FMCG environment
