Job description / Role
- Shall be responsible for all the production activities of the Machine Shop - OCTG Shop on a day to day basis.
- Liaise with customers in addressing all their enquiries.
- Associated business development activities.
- Review and approval of estimates and formal quotations prior to submittal to clients.
- Management of production personnel to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries to customers.
- Review of material availability and arrangement of inventory replenishment of stock in coordination with other sub departments.
- Review and approve shop floor drawings and work order documentation.
- Management of workshop activities in coordination with all departments to achieve efficient and effective running of OCTG Machine Shop including trouble shooting activities.
- To manage preventive and breakdown maintenance of all equipments of the shop floor.
- Manage QA and QC related activities through line Managers/Supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all QA procedures such as quality system documentation requirements/premium connection license requirements.
- Manpower Planning/Recruitment Activities.
- Training of personnel as appropriate.
- Regular reporting to top management including work load status and forward planning activities.
- Planning and development of facilities to include machinery, tooling, new processes.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree of Diploma, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional professional qualification post educational qualification is desirable.
- 20 years of post education experience in the shop floor of which 5 years shall be in OCTG related activities and 5 years in the senior management.
- Shall be computer literate.
- Shall be fully familiar with contracting formalities including ability for negotiation.
- Good team leader.
