The Role


The Role


Objective:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for all equipment that requires safety certification e.g. Vessels, Cranes and pipe work as the main items. He is responsible for all construction and installation activities of new equipment and associated pipe work in the plants and fields e.g. Flow Lines, Gas Lines, Plant and Well site facilities and equipment. He liaises with 3rd party inspection and ensures that all activities conform to Company and International engineering standards. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of all maintenance and construction activities in the existing facilities. He is the focal point between all our clients departments and contractor companies for the provision of labour, transport & engineering support. Liaise with Contractor companies to ensure sufficient labour, equipment availability for implementation of planned maintenance and construction activities. On a daily basis he ensures that the contractor workforce is sufficiently supervised and audited. After completion of works the Maintenance Engineer has to ensure that all relevant documentation (e.g. Vessel certificates) will be updated and maintained. Utilization of the computerized maintenance management system is a must. Directly reporting to the Maintenance Engineer are the Maintenance and Construction Supervisors who carry out the on-site job supervision.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. HSE Performance
• Ensure that all actions identified in the Companies HSE plan for the Maintenance Engineer are completed as per plan and progress reported to the HSE Coordinator on a monthly basis.
• Monitor that all company Safety Procedures are adhered to and identify improvements where possible.
• On a daily basis monitor all field activities are executed within the Companies Environmental objectives.
• Ensure HSE audits are carried out in accordance with specified requirements

2. Staff Performance
• Enable staff to perform to the maximum of their abilities and regular feedback on performance is conducted.
• Develop all staff within his section to their ultimate potential and monitor progress on a regular basis.
• Support an environment that promotes work enjoyment and job satisfaction.
• Monitor and guide the development of all National Staff within his section in line with the company Libyan Integration and Development (LID) goals.

3. Business Integrity
• Plan and execute all activities on a “right first-time” basis.
• Monitor that all activities are executed in adherence to the operational procedures and identify improvements to current procedures and identify additional procedures required.

4. Profitability
• Execute the activities in a cost effective manner and within budge

5. Investment & Growth
• Provide support to projects being executed in the field such that they can be completed as per plan.
• On a continuous basis review the activities and identify the possibilities for improvements and application of new technologies.

6. External Relationships
• Report all conflicts with local communities, authorities and other Operating Companies immediately to the Field Manager.

Maintain good communications with the relevant departments and contractors.
