Qatar is booming and the retail sector is following suit. Our client, a leading sports retailer and wholesaler is currently experiencing rapid growth and is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager (Fitness Equipment) with a passion for sport and retail to join their Retail team.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Overseeing machinery maintenance operations of fitness equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
- Plans, directs, prioritizes and oversees maintenance personnel in the area of fitness equipment maintenance.
- Oversees the tasks of diagnosing causes of machinery malfunction.
- Performs and/or delegates training of new maintenance staff. Ensures all maintenance employees are trained in applicable procedures, including Safety and Hazard SOPs.
- Continually evaluates strengths and weaknesses of each staff member as well as the team as a whole. Ensures cross training.
- Problem solves, coaches and promotes maintenance department team, activities and processes.
- Ensures maintenance department functions at a maximum level of efficiency and highest quality possible by responding to management and supervisor requests, maintaining supplies, maintaining equipment in working order as required.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and sub-contractors associated with maintenance and coordinates with sub-contractors for select projects.
- Available to provide on-call support in the case of a break-down of equipment.
- Possesses and remains knowledgeable on all up to date manuals and maintenance instructions
- Collects and maintains maintenance data to ensure calibrated instruments are accurate.
- Ensures all tools are maintained in good repair and according to Original standard specifications.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Maintenance (preferably Mechanical Engineering) or other related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of proven work experience in Maintenance aspects.
- Comprehensive understanding of equipment maintenance functions.
- Demonstrates expertise in leading a high-performance team including mechanic, machinist, custodial and grounds personnel.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and external relationships.
Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills in Arabic & English required.
- Prior supervising/managing experience is required.
