Select Auto is a part of Al Futtaim Automotive Group. This company will cater to the regional requirements of Nato Forces and their Prime Contractors for supply of heavy equipment ,vehicles and their maintenance services. Select will be the single point of contact for customers of this profile and will operate as an internal customer for the other automotive group companies

Job Purpose: Establish, operate & develop an operational Light Vehicle & Heavy Equipment workshop, ensuring the implementation of safe working practices, efficient 1st time repairs, implementation & monitoring of industry standard KPI's (to include technician efficiency, workshop utilisation, workshop recover rates) on-going staff (direct & indirect) development, security of personnel and assets, H&S and Environmental compliance, promotion of all aspects associated with a high level of client satisfaction.

Description of the Accountability
* Development, implementation and achievement of annual budgets, business objectives and KPI's
* Achievement of sales, gross margin and net profit objectives
* Management of productivity and efficiency performance
* Planning and provision of workshop facilities, tools and equipment.
* Control of Technical quality, Health and Safety.
* Liaison and negotiation with Principals on Service issues
* Maintaining regular contact with major customers
* Leading and motivating staff to provide the highest quality of service product and customer support
* Receipt and dissemination of Technical and product information from Principals
* In conjunction with Training Manager (or designated POC), ensure competence planning and training delivery to meet business requirements.
* Develop positive teamwork and effective communication between all divisional service locations.
* In conjunction with brand Warranty Departments, ensure all warranty-related procedures and KPI's are reviewed and achieved.
* Ensure Service Division receivables are maintained within Company guidelines
* Any other duty or task as reasonably required

JOB CONTEXT:
A multi-brand, full service & repair, bodywork, recovery & hydraulic hose repair workshop, supporting a rental fleet of light vehicles & heavy equipment to a variety of clients based within remote, austere and potentially hostile locations. The following brands compose approximately 80% of the fleet with several official manufacturers franchises;

* Dynapac Compaction Equipment
* Himoinsa Mobile Power Solutions (Dealer Franchise)
* Ingersol Rand Pneumatic Solutions (Dealer Franchise)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

* B E Mech. Engineering or Diploma in Mech. Engineering
* Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of vehicle design and manufacture, consumer and vehicle legislation, industry and trade practices.
* Experience in Armored Vehicles Services (up-armored Soft-Skin vehicles) would be beneficial

Minimum Experience:

* 8 years (for B.E) and 10 years (for diploma), in service area of commercial vehicle industry. Out of this, four years should be as workshop manager, at a reputed commercial distributorship.
* Must have at least five (5) years of experience working in overseas, austere environments, such as post-war and developing nations, with experience setting up and developing business activities and customer markets.
* Prior experience as an automotive service manager with multi-brand fleets, ideally fleet maintenance contracts (military fleets, NGO fleets, UN fleets)
* Leading, working with and developing multi-national workforce.

Job-Specific Skills:

* Proven mechanical background on automotive (trucks or cars) and heavy equipment.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, working experience with spread sheets to maintain data, and create reports and briefings.
* General skills required for the job: Special Skills (if any): PC skills, customer care, repair & trouble shooting of modern vehicles, marketing workshop business.
* Competent to understand and guide complex repairs of modern Commercial Vehicles and accessories.

* Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
* Should be capable of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
* Must be willing to work and travel throughout remote and austere locations, such as those within which Select Auto operates.
